ABOUT THE PRESIDENT/CEO

Tracy “The Lady” Byrd was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. The 6th child of eight children born to boxing coaches Joe and Rose Byrd. Tracy was raised in an athletic family and each of them helped shape her boxing career. Her father was the 1992 Olympic Boxing coach and her younger brother Chris was the 1992 Olympic silver medalist and former 2x World Boxing Champion. Four of her brothers, Joe, Timmy, Ronnie, and Patrick also boxed professional. Tracy's sister Laurie was a former professional basketball player and former assistant coach for the WNBA Detroit Shock and New York Liberty. Her sister Kay ran marathons. The heartbeat of the family was her mother Rose who is believed to be the 2nd licensed women boxing coach in the nation. Rose passed in 2015 and will be posthumously inducted into the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) on October 22, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tracy began boxing at the young age of 32! She is a 3-time champion, earning titles as the former International Federation of Boxers Association (IFBA) Lightweight Champion, the former Women’s Boxer’s Organization (WBO) Jr. Welterweight Champion, and the former International Women’s Boxing Federation (IWBF) Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion.

After retiring from boxing in 2006 the “Lady Byrd” decided to take her passion for boxing to another arena. She incorporated her love for children with her passion for sports to form You Be Educated, Athletic and Resourceful, Incorporated (UBEARINC), a program to motivate and educate youth. UBEARINC serves the youth of all ages. The program motivates youth to participate in fitness, learn healthy eating habits to fight obesity; mentors’ youth by providing motivational speakers; teaches life skills, conducts community service, and provides resources to assist families.

Tracy Byrd has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. She is the Founder/CEO of Byrd’s Physique, LLC a personal training center for youth and adults; a retired law enforcement officer with over 30-years’ experience; a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and an ordained-licensed minister. Tracy was also nominated to be inducted into the IWBHF, October 22, 2022. She has an adult son, Stephen, daughter in love, Leah, and two grandchildren, Simeon and Kaleya.

UBEARINC was established in honor of Tracy's parents, Joe & Rose Byrd, who instilled in her the love for God's people and the desire to give back to youth and the community!
